Yes, well, my education was not within the orthodox in any sense. Perhaps the author of my US History textbook is a Zionist and is actually kind of chill with genocide. I’m not saying that it definitely wasn’t an example of plain honesty, but I would approach that idea with some skepticism.

My education was quite honest about it. If I recall it talked rather frankly about the white concept of manifest destiny, and that there were many many acts of aggression to achieve it. It didn’t cover the full scope, but I was aware before my Internet age that whites violently pushed Natives out.
