I’m sorry I didn’t get to visit your store. I’m Canadian and you’re right, we just can’t risk a visit. I worry for small businesses on both sides of the border. Stay agile as a business and maybe one day things will change and we can meet face to face and shake hands.

I’ve currently got the Hwaet! sock pattern on my needles. I decided not to knit both at the same time because it requires knitting old English text and I wasn’t sure where I’d end on the chart. One sock took six months. The second sock isn’t finished after two years.

This is why, whenever possible, I knit socks on cable needles, two at a time. It was a trick figuring it out how to do it, but SO worth it!

I read the 1990 uncut version of The Stand in 1992, as winter turned to spring. There was a snowstorm that closed roads, and then a tornado close enough to my house that I watched a 6’ bush roll down the street. I was pregnant with #1 son and I felt like I was living it. So excited for this!

In 2028 I’m going to the Galápagos Islands for my 60th birthday and I’m working on a little booklet with mammals, birds, insect, fish—everything really—including geological coolness. It’ll have pics and bullet point trivia. And a box for a check mark when I see it.
