I'm currently fixing my intern endless runs datacentre. It's taken multiple in-game days and thousands in setup fees, and I'm not even half-way, and it looks so bad. The tower has grown 4 more floors and I'm just lashing networking in quick with the idea of I'll come back later and fix it.

Whilst I was learning the systems on my first run in intern (easy) mode, I started recreating that photo that comes up time to time with tons of layers of thousands of yellow network cables draped between all the racks purely by accident! Not a sausage else would know how it worked but me.

The UK Online Safety Act 2025 should be repealed and abolished and I've put my name to a gov petition to make it happen. Data collection services are ready for this attack on freedom of expression also! Sure I'll hand over a face scan and my credit card over to a company I've never heard of.

Nearly 12 hours in the end. The carnage a power outage of a mariadb cluster causes, man. 2 major issues came up both of which stopped the cluster coming up, but after far too long googling it finally happened and all nodes reported

My time in Atlyss is going well. To be fair, work is on the mind.

Steam Deck OLED/512GB limited-edition white version alongside batch 1 LCD/512 black with the dbrand swarm skin. The OLED screen really pops - not seen an OLED Deck prior to today and it looks pretty cool!

It's been OK for me, but I'm using default settings at 720p on the Deck. Occasional dips in framerate but its fine. I don't typically play on PC but did just fire it up and interestingly it IS slightly more stuttery. Setting vsync to max FPS instead of VBlank 1 cleared it up though for me!

A lot of people moved over to Bluesky since I joined. Many of them if they left the 'other' site have likely found themselves better off mentally. No longer at the whim of an algorithm that thinks you need to know about and have an opinion on literally everything, a perpetual cycle of bad news.

Opening a game for the first time and being asked to share my Xbox account data, every single time;- and you can't decline! Normalizing clicking accept repeatedly among people instead of taking careful consideration if people want to or not, then withdrawing access if not, not good.
