Thank you to the Japanese American National Museum for this wonderful teacher institute. In April, they learned that they had lost their NEH funding. They privately fundraised to make it happen, bringing dozens of educators from around the US to Little Tokyo to learn together. @jamuseum.bsky.social

Our @jamuseum.bsky.social teacher institute group had a very meaningful visit to Manzanar today. In the blazing sun, it was hard to imagine that many families spent years interned here, simply because they were of Japanese ancestry.

I don’t see “officers”. I see masked racist vigilantes. Without proper identification or signed warrants, how can any of us see anything different?
Here's a picture that a @kuow.org photographer took in Seattle yesterday, showing the ICE officers masked up in the hallways as they waited to arrest people coming out of their hearings.
