I'm taking a college level course & it's been an interesting challenge. I've never done this before & it's both frustrating and freeing. The assignment was to throw a cylinder and then alter it. All additions had to be wheel thrown.

Part of the concept behind this design is "contrast" -- especially contrast between geometric machine sewn elements and organic hand sewn elements. I've got the first hand appliquéd "nebula" sewn on and it looks soooooo gooood!!!!

This week I managed to finish the base top for the quilt I'm designing. I could have done this in about a day but I've been taking it slow to collect progress pics & make sure everything is working out just right. I'm keeping notes as I go to turn into a pattern!
