Lots of opinions, usually snarky. Corporate world by day, writing and crafting by night.
The world is heavy right now. But also? Things are growing. Every phase of my life has been punctuated by U.S military involvement in the Middle East…along with plenty of domestic crises. Learning to live and experience joy while also caring about the chaos and sadness is what my generation does.

I just sent a bunch of texts to people saying simply, “he’s alive!” We’re talking about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and it seems fitting for Holy Week.

Senator Booker’s marathon speech is boosting morale and giving me hope. Call it performative all you want - it’s the sermon I needed to keep going.

Are you listening to the incredible @booker.senate.gov and @chrismurphyct.bsky.social filibustering on the Senate floor for 11 hours so far? They're not talking nonsense. They are amazing. 🩵

I'm no lawyer, but it seems like discussing war plans in Signal outside a SCIF is maybe just a little bit worse than using a private server to send emails that weren't even marked as classified. But what do I know.

The world may be full of upheaval, but I found joy today at a used book sale. I’m slowly building my collection of books I loved as a kid.

Me: I’m not prone to panic.

Also me: Let’s make sure we have a month’s worth of shelf stable food just in case.

This week I lost count of the number of times I withheld my “I tried to warn you, but you didn’t listen” and replaced it with “I’m sorry that happened, you should look into the 5 calls app.”
My desire to be petty is currently outweighed by my desire to preserve democracy.

Despite my evangelical upbringing, I never learned the domestic arts. Now I’m learning to sew…and of course I chose something difficult like making a stuffed doll as my first project. 😂

Someone else said it, but this should be the biggest scandal in American history-Watergate on steroids and speed.

If this is true, the president is tearing through the DoJ to find a lawyer to break the law.

No ambiguity about wasteful spending or administrative procedures-just naked lawlessness.
Strong rumor with credible sourcing: DOJ has put all of public integrity line attorneys in a room and told them they have an hour for someone to choose who will sign motion to dismiss and if nobody does, they will all be fired. The nastiest strong-arming in DOJ history by a long shot.

About a year ago I moved to a small town after a life in the suburbs. I work in STEM, but dream of being a fiction writer.
Am I living a hallmark movie? I could use a happy outcome right about now.

Between my house and car, I’ve had an absurd amount of expenses in the last few days.
I cannot even think about the next four years right now.
