The Franklin Free Press AOTW for Nov. 3-8 is Russellville football sophomore QB Whit Goodwin who accounted for all 4 Golden Tiger touchdowns in the team's 29-28 overtime win vs. No. 10 Boaz. Goodwin rushed for 3 TD, threw for another, & also converted two 2-pt conversions, including the game-winner.

The Franklin Free Press AOTW for October 20-25 is Phil Campbell's Hayston Scott. The junior QB totaled 5 TDs and 356 yards of offense for PCHS in its 76-29 rout of Hanceville. Through the air, Scott tossed for 267 yards and 4 TDs; on the ground, he had 89 yards rushing on 3 carries and a TD.

The Franklin Free Press AOTW for Oct. 13-18 is Russellville volleyball's Blevyn Sappington. The sophomore had 14 kills, 17 digs, and two service aces in the Lady Golden Tigers' area championship win over Lawrence County. Her performance helped lead RHS to its first regional berth since 2014.

The Franklin Free Press Athlete of the Week for Sept. 29–Oct. 4 is Tharptown volleyball's Carly Cason. Recording 56 kills, 8 service aces, and 7 solo blocks over four matches at the Franklin County Tournament, Cason helped lead her team to the county title, beating defending county champ Belgreen.

Phil Campbell volleyball celebrated Senior Night with a 2-1 win over Hamilton on Thursday night. Seniors Avery Cummings, Ava Hall, and Roxi Molina were honored after the match.

The Franklin Free Press Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-13 is Phil Campbell football's Braxton Downey. The sophomore running back rushed for 134 yards on 22 carries and scored 4 of the Bobcats' 5 touchdowns in their 36-30 win over region foe Oakman.

The Franklin Free Press Athlete of the Week is Russellville volleyball's Fatima Ramirez. The RHS senior did a bit of everything for her team. She recorded 61 assists, 59 digs, 14 aces, and 16 kills as the Lady Golden Tigers went 6-2 last week.

The Franklin Free Press AOTW for August 25-30 is Red Bay football's Jaxon Vinson. The senior running back rushed for 255 yards on 15 carries (17.0 yards per carry) and accounted for five of the Tigers' six touchdowns in their 41-8 win over Lamar County to open the season.

The Russellville High School varsity volleyball team improved to 13-3 after wins over Deshler (2-1) and Phil Campbell (2-0) Tuesday night. Blevyn Sappington led the Lady Golden Tigers with 16 kills in the two matches.
