Children don't come into the world wanting to murder people who are different. That's learned, and is by definition maladaptive.

I explicitly said not love.

Disclaimer: I'd get one with a washable cover, obviously

Pro tip: if you've got a limescale problem, don't throw big bucks at liquid de-scalers. Buy a bulk tub of citric acid and toss a kettle full of hot water and 4 tbsp of that in the bowl for an overnight soak.

I managed to build one that's capable of completely erasing the smell of my smoker housemate for £60. 12" box fan, the box it came in, a furnace filter, and some duct tape. It's like the full Corsi-Rosenthal box but one filter instead of 3-4, making it more affordable as a starting point.

It's oddly reassuring. If it takes this much energy to maintain hate, then it indicates that the natural state of humans is not hate. It might not be love, but it's probably at least neutral, and that's worth celebrating.

I dare you to get the most hilarious cover-up tattoos of zippers.

(Also congrats on your surgery and I hope your healing goes smoothly)

*if* he can be fixed, it'll be by doing something for the joy of it rather than attention.

He should get a hobby. One that he can do on his own, ideally, so he can grow a personality before he attempts to interact with human beings again. And I mean a real hobby that he does himself rather than paying someone to pretend.

"why do all these poors have new smartphones? Think of the economy!"

*Poors stop buying new smartphones*

Hold one hand with the other and use your thumb to stroke the back of your hand as if you were comforting a baby. It's some sort of nerve hack we've had since we were monkeys.

A simple "no thank you" is enough...

Unbeatable at pingpong. They spent how much money, time, resources and pollution to create something a literal brick wall could do.

If someone's got the facilities to pirate a book, they've got the facilities to install Libby and sign up for the nearest library so they can borrow e-books without screwing over authors.

No society that valued community activities and the arts would have a nonprofit work so hard to prove effects, it would simply recognise that free community activities and the arts are good and should be funded.
November 24, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Can confirm. I'm involved with my local community hub where they put on free art activities for the community, and they're constantly having to give out questionnaires on mental health to justify the continued funding.
