This past year I watched the 1979 movie Time After Time in which Mary Steenburgen plays a woman who falls in love with a time traveler so there’s some random drive-by trivia to put in your pocket 🕰️ (can’t wait for this ep!)

But I WOULD absolutely watch the hell out of a reality show about Staci Keanan doing law things.

And I’m gonna echo @alexsteed.bsky.social here and remind folks that getting engaged with community is crucial.

The power of the people is a very real thing, but it can only happen when we take action together.

Also this church was founded by Rev. Ezekiel Bell, who once housed MLK and Rev. Abernathy overnight in his home in 1962.

The house at 101 Whitney Ave. is among Huntsville's strongest connections to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
On the night of March 19, 1962, King and the Rev. Ralph Abernathy stayed at the house at the corner of Meridian Street and Whitney Avenue in the Edmonton Heights subdivision.

We are living in weird times and I often turn back to the overall sentiment from this piece of literature, written by a guy who, at the end of it all, seemed to find the most joy in sharing stories. It’s something I love, too.

Folks often default to the theme of censorship as the central message, but I see one of non-conformity, of the constant quest to learn about ourselves as we take in new things and revisit old comfortable favorites. Sharing those journeys is a large part of the human condition.

I brought my high school required reading copy of Fahrenheit 451 with me and had him sign it. It’s one of my favorite books and a passage from it is one of the few things I’ve ever seriously considered getting tattooed on my body. Which one? There are many. Perhaps that’s why it hasn’t happened yet.

This is how I ended up opening a video shop. Though “moderately viable” is applied very loosely.

I think there’s also something to the fact that she wasn’t a career politician, she’s someone who decided to step into it because it needed to be done.

When I was in the 4th grade (circa 1988), we had to do very similar love/fear exercises via worksheets and my dad straight up told the teacher I would not be participating so when I saw this movie I was like IS MY DAD DONNIE DARKO?
