It's ironic that there's so often a (barebones) section on "What is a TTRPG?", but the rest of the book assumes you're already familiar with the concept. Not everyone jumps in after having watched Critical Role!

"How to play" is not only about knowing all about attack rolls, saving throws, skill bonuses or AC. It's also about how we get to the parts where we use the game mechanics. Where's the step-by-step on getting the game started? And then what?

I don't recall ever seeing a section that sort of strings all of this together. There are examples of play every 10 pages, but there's no overview of what a "game" looks like. How do we get started? It's session 1! What do we do once we're sat at the table with our character sheets filled out?
