“ABC7 spoke to Pertissue Fisher, a woman who lives in the building. She said ICE agents took everyone in the building, including her, and asked questions later….’They was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other.’”

It can’t happen here, you say. But it is happening.

I'm so disappointed by the people in my life who are posting, "Well done, good and faithful servant," about CK. I can't comprehend how we learned about Jesus together but apply it so differently. It breaks my heart. Jesus would not say the things Kirk said about immigrants, POC, gun control.

I don't want to hear another thing about Biden's mental fitness.
Just this week, the 79-year-old president hallucinated a lie about the Unabomber, forgot he appointed the Fed Chair he hates, blanked on names of officials, fell asleep at a rally, threatened to strip Rosie O'Donnell of her citizenship and spun wild theories about his good friend the pedophile.

Here's another thing to keep track of...
What’s the next likely stage with a network of concentration camps? Forced slave labor. As historian Timothy Snyder urges, CEOs should pledge to not hire these laborers and each of us should pledge not to buy from or invest in companies that do.

This whole thread! Phew! The senator hits the nail on the head.
What's up with Justice Jackson? She started making her mark and speaking out early, and some of her dissents are so pointed Kagan and Sotomayor don’t even join them. The far right is out for her, and even Republican justices are getting snarky.

So what's up? Here’s my take 🧵

We're taking down the popcorn ceiling downstairs. I need to clear out the entertainment center (bookshelves, cabinets, drawers), and some kitchen cabinets. Instead, I'm sitting in pjs, nursing a mild headache, doomscrolling about BBB, and watching Wimbledon. #priorities #WHYAMILIKETHIS

All I want to hear out of Democrats is that we had a deal and no bomb. Then Trump tore it up and he is now putting American lives in danger.

That’s it.

The president is completely out of control, and Congress yawns.
Everything that we were afraid would happen during his first term is happening right now

Tariffs.
Stock market down.
Medicaid slashed
Secret police throwing anyone who looks Latino in unmarked vans.
National guard and marines deployed in LA.
No end to the wars in Gaza or Ukraine
Bombing Iran

This is the worst first six months of any presidential term in my lifetime.

My 10 yro asked to turn off the TV bc she wanted to read. Be still my heart, I've got one more reader in the fam. She got a stack of books at the library today and is anxious she'll finish them too quickly. 😍 Her brother prefers audiobooks, but he grabbed a couple of graphic novels. #winning

This wee fellow crashed into our back window and came to on the porch. After a few minutes, he flew back into the trees. I think this rose breasted grosbeak may have been on his way north for the summer. It's the first of his kind I've seen around here.

Click through and read this whole thread. @hankgreen.bsky.social explains the MAHA worldview so well.
The new Neil Halloran documentary on Smallpox has completely changed how I see the RFK Jr. version of the world. Neil (softly) argues that realizing that disease isn't the fault of the sick /or/ the fault of the Gods ushered in a new future where we felt the authority to care for each other.

My parents already live under my roof. If the Rs take down Medicare, I genuinely don't know what we'll do.
This will affect every single family in the US. ALL VOTERS WILL BE FURIOUS ESPECIALLY CHILDREN WITH ELDERLY PARENTS.

The president talking about running for a third term in front of US troops (in another country!) before he flys home on a $400 million plan he received from a foreign dictator.

It’s hard to imagine a guy who gives less of a shit about the US constitution!
Believe him.

And saying this in front of the troops makes this particularly un-American.

Could CNN talk about Trump's mental acuity the way they're dissecting Biden's? He fell asleep during his own criminal case. If Biden talked about annexing Canada the way Trump has, they'd have committed him on air. Trump doesn't know if he has to uphold the Constitution? Talk about THAT!

Sometimes, procrastinating pays off. I left last year's garden to rot all winter. Last month, my kids and I cleared the beds. Some tomato seeds were left behind. We've been busy and hadn't planted anything yet, but now at least a dozen thriving tomato plants now fill the bed. Nature finds a way!

How journalists should be covering this:
"Masked security forces captured an opposition leader in the coastal province of New Jersey as regime officials continue their months-long crack-down against pro-democracy elements in the embattled United States. The arrest comes as the regime issued calls for summary detentions without trial."
HAPPENING NOW: Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was just taken into custody while protesting outside the Delaney Hall ICE detention center

This is the kind of work senators should be doing. Unlike, Senator "It's not a power of Congress" Grassley, Van Hollen is working for his constituents and not for the president.
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

So now all the “fiscal conservatives” in Congress who complained for the last 4 years that the Biden/Pelosi budget deficits were “mortgaging our kids’ futures” are on a path to pass a budget that will explode the deficit exponentially to far more than any of the Biden years.

So, I'm pretty sure that all the evangelical parents who showed their kids Veggie Tales videos didn't watch the episodes. Because there's one called "Rack, Shack, and Bennie" that would be very instructive today.
