Before the world wakes, the birds are already singing…

This week, we’re celebrating the dawn chorus at its peak. 😍

Each day, we’ll be spotlighting a few of the voices, building up to #InternationalDawnChorusDay this Sunday 4th May.

Who'll be getting up early with us to catch the magic? 🎵

There are 1835 bookshops on the various lists on the Independent Bookshop website and my goal this week is to add as many from my bookmarks as I can, hoping to get it to 2025 😉
For those that like to shop from in Independent Bookshop, here's an ever growing directory.

There are 29 individual directory pages, thousands of bookshops listed, and five bookshop interviews

Daily poetry prompt: With a nod to #WorldMathDay (26th), what would you be if you were a shape?

I’d be a rectangle,
I’d be a snooker table where I always potted the black,
I’d be a football pitch where Spurs would always be winning..

Speechless by @mrwolfcomics.bsky.social (creator of Mr Wolf's Class) is a masterpiece. So many children, and adults, will be able to relate to Mira and her struggles to speak in public. It's a book bursting with empathy and a perfect graphic novel for the Y5/6 bookshelves. Do track down a copy.
