MAGA arguing about the definition of pedophile as if calling Epstein a "statutory rapist" is so much better.

Love your neighbor. Love the stranger. Love your enemy. If the greatest commandment is to love, then the greatest sin is failure to love.
James Talarico: I’m called to love all of my neighbors, regardless of how they pray or if they pray at all. And that’s what I’m called to do as a Christian.

The reason people think the Democratic Party doesn't actually stand for anything is because it doesn't.

Tim's a bit of a diva it seems.
This is far and away my pettiest Tim Kaine gripe but the Senator’s advance staff always deliver a bottle of Maker’s Mark that is for him only to fundraising events so he doesn’t have to do toasts with the cheap beer and wine the hosts provide and that always really irked me

Senator Kaine, I am deeply disappointed. I voted for you, and you have let the people of Virginia down.
Sen. Tim Kaine is a YES: “This deal guarantees a vote to extend Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, which Republicans weren’t willing to do. Lawmakers know their constituents expect them to vote for it, and if they don’t, they could very well be replaced at the ballot box by someone who will”

The GDP of the entire rest of the world is about $74 trillion. Trump is claiming he will be diverting over 25% of the rest of the world's GDP into the US economy, while many of our trading partners are pursuing relationships with other counties due to his economic policies. Bonkers.
Trump: "I've secured commitments over $18 trillion. We're gonna have $21 trillion in one year." (Trump's fake numbers get bigger even within a single statement!)

So Trump is going to almost double the entire GDP of the United States in a year. If you believe that, I've a great deal on a certain bridge you should consider.

No sense of history. No skill at mathematics. Just a self-glorified buffoon in a red tie.
Trump: "After last night's results the decision facing all Americans could not be more clear. We have a choice between communist and common sense. Does that make sense to you? Common sense. It's common sense or communism. Look back 1,000 years. It hasn't worked."

It's reassuring to know that we are ready when the truck tire invasion happens.
This has absolutely nothing to do with readiness

Who'd have thought People Magazine would be engaged in more accurate reporting than CNN and CBS.
someone invited people magazine to the kitchen and they brought their own knives

Apparently we're now going further back than the Gilded Age, all the way to the Crusades.
BBC: Trump orders U.S. military to prepare action in Nigeria, accusing the government of failing to protect Christians — though watchdogs say there’s no evidence Christians face more killings than Muslims in the country.

Mike Johnson bemoans able-bodied men collecting healthcare benefits from the government while not working--exactly what Mike Johnson is currently doing.
Mike Johnson: "With Medicaid, we eliminated the fraud, waste, and abuse. We got able-bodied young men without dependents off the program. They were never intended to be there. They're sitting around on their couches playing video games. Yes, that's an actual study."

Trump does realize that the Lincoln bathroom didn't actually exist when Lincoln was President, right? Right?
sure, you might not be able to eat or go to the doctor, but check out how nice Trump's new marble shitter is

Meiselas: One question I have is why do we even have a funding issue? If Trump brought in $17 trillion, why is there even an issue with funding? If we brought in $17 trillion, shouldn’t Trump just be making it rain on everybody and there’s so much money to go—oh, wait a minute.

My favorite cycling hero (and perhaps my favorite hero in general) is Gino Bartali. Twice a winner of the Tour de France and the Tour of Italy, Gino was a national celebrity, a hero even, during the time of Mussolini and the Second World War. He was also a devout Catholic. 1/3

Aside from the incorrect data (the DC homicide rate is not 41 per 100k residents, it's 24 per 100k), there is an interesting point of commonality with all the other cities in the list:

They all have stricter gun control laws than DC.
