It’s a pretty narrow political ideology, with one and only one claim. I understand that the term has additional meaning in some contexts but for most American Jews, at least, it just means Israel gets to exist. This is why I asked how you defined Zionism. We’re talking past each other

This is where I think a distinction between political disagreements with Israel and with Zionism need to be distinguished from one another. One is criticism of Israel’s actions, the other is critical of the notion of Israel.

Yes, the situation is terrible. All attempts to enact a 2-state solution have been rejected by Palestinians. Now, the leadership of both peoples is a major problem.
