They found that most cases occurred in the postpartum period (56%), with the majority in the third trimester (93.6%). The leading causes were preeclampsia and sepsis.

We’ve been reporting this, screaming about it. We’ve tried to get hospitals to institute checklists for pregnancy monitoring after 30 weeks, with closer hypertensive and preeclampsia monitoring **every visit** and then **every hour** during labor.

Very few practices listen.
