Completely agree. And that all started from the front three pressing. It’s what got us the winner and really helped our back line out.

The press was a hallmark of our successful teams over the last 10-15 years and so hopefully it’s something Jack’s reinstalling.

Not his worst game for us but definitely not his best. The flip-flops comment is so accurate, especially when he’s being run at and he’s jockeying. He can’t get his feet sorted. But he wasn’t alone. Saville, Odoffin, Walsh all couldn’t jockey a statue tonight.

After their goal it definitely felt like he took hold of the game in a manner he’s not done before. Richards was the best player in the first half. Two exciting young prospects to build round.

They all certainly worked for it tonight though, so fair play to them after the debacle of Saturday.

Seems like a pretty black and white rules breach, but I had the exact same thought.

Would certainly have been less painful. Even with my lack of flexibility.

I naively suggested that my wife do Pilates on Saturday mornings out here and I’d look after the toddler, thinking it’d be the perfect way to indoctrinate her to the Town…

I thought there were suggestions he might be back on the grass come Jan?

If not, maybe Arsenal have a kid they can lend us?

Eli could have a huge impact when he’s back.

That’s quite a horrible stat and something we do need to work on. I’m trying to stay a little more positive as I do think we’d have lost that a month ago, but we can’t ignore the issues.

And there’s a long and short answer to your question and both have to do with the league direction of the club.

Don’t disagree but running the ball up for running it’s sake is just as pointless as the sideways passes. My bet is that Wilshere would’ve liked to have the formation set up differently if we played the game again tomorrow.

But we do need more invention and that comes with confidence.

Definitely agree there’s a mental fragility lingering, but when Mengi or Andersen are getting the ball on the half way line & there’s no runners, what are they to do? Definitely don’t want to see either of them dribbling into a wall of players. It needed more movement or different shape.

better than we have in other games & we didn’t concede a stupid goal. That’s also five unbeaten now in all comps & back to back clean sheets in the league. Promotion seasons are built on solid foundations and we’re fining that. We now just need JW to find the formula for that + the attacking spark.

our best player in the first half and not sure why he was sacrificed at half time.

Good to see Brown back out there and whilst he’s not a 15 goal a season guy, he does offer something different to stitch the lines together better.

And there are some positives. We marshaled their limited attacks…

that is still two points dropped for us.

Wells has redeemed himself somewhat over the last month but him and Yates up top were useless today. The formation didn’t help them but they were static in attack and Yates in particular kept getting in the way more than making a difference.

Richards was…
