I'm here for the pets and politics. She/her. Residing currently in BC, Canada - Dakelh territory.
I am claiming the mantle of an award I created just now: “smartest dog that is not a border collie”. This is a story about my dog, who has invisible thumbs, apparently. 1/6 #dogsofbluesky #dogs #blueskydogs

River and sunflower field walk with my Nellie.

It will never not be funny to me that when I search for Last Week Tonight in my Crave app, the only other show the pops up is The Passion. Algorithms are weird.

First day out with Nellie in a new brace. Still have some fitting adjustments, but overall good I think? #dogsky #dogsofbluesky #dogs

I'm such a fan, I had this tattooed on my arm. Can I join? Bonus picture is my favourite quote that hangs on my wall at work.

I need this maniac to stay the hell out of our elections. This is really scary.

My friend owns this company. Legit small business, Canada-based, indigenous owned and amazing. She comes up here in Northern BC for a market fair and sells out every time. In Canada, buy here: www.sriracharevolver.com and worldwide, here: lucifershouseofheat.com/collections/... #shopCanadian

A hack for Northern Canadian life - when it’s -30, venture into the forest and it doesn’t feel so cold (as long as you’re bundled up). Plus, you usually have the entire winter wonderland to yourself. Also a nice respite from yesterday’s news. Magical. #dogsofbluesky #blueskydogs #Canada

It’s been 5 years since I rescued this scamp. Nellie was my first dog, I was woefully underprepared for her, and I don’t regret a single second. She’s my joy and my heart. #dogsofbluesky #blueskydogs

Context is everything for me. I visited the Louvre with a narrow focus on viewing art looted during the Third Reich. The MNR gallery was deeply moving, and standing in front of Vermeer’s The Astronomer gave me chills, knowing the history of this specific painting. Explanation in the second image.

Combo #DIY and #dogsofbluesky post. Here’s my gorgeous girl Nellie in a coat I made for her using scrap fabric and a fabulous fur collar I found at Value Village. Pro-tip: you can easily create a pattern for dog clothes out of any dog coat you have that fits. It is easier than you think it would be!

Here is the finished space. I DIY’d the area rugs too out of upholstery fabric :) I like a bold space with mixed patterns. Running into issues with this? Ask me! I’ve done it a ton.

Continue pasting, leveling and tacking until you hit the floor and then unpin from the top of the wall and work from the middle up. I sectioned these panels into four different applications.

If your mixture looks like the first image (more white on the bottom) rather than a consistent opaque (second image), it’s gone wrong and you need to start over. Allow to cool and then transfer to a paint tray.

Playing with content options, and thought I’d share a walkthrough on how to DIY your own removable wallpaper out of (mostly) any fabric. It peels right off the wall with no damage from the fabric and the cornstarch paste washes off with warm water. This is a fun option for fellow maximalists!

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains.

Hope I did this right.

Esther eventually tuckered out, and how cute is this sleeping pose?

There are many things wrong with the world today, but I will never stop being delighted by the fact that my new kitten is obsessed with television. #catsofbluesky

Finally deactivated my account after deleting my tweets back to 2009 (!). I've been hit or miss since I scored an invite to Bluesky, mostly lurking, but the balance has finally tipped and my feed here is busier than the bad place. Hoping to build up some followers here, so posting some dog bait.

Everything about this article is delightful. Alana Vincent’s is my favourite though. Perfect.

It was only after I set this up that I realized I’ve sort of created the cat version of Napoleon’s travel tent when he went to battle. Some would argue unnecessarily luxurious for a cat you don’t really know and it’s the same colour. Fingers crossed this gets him through the cold snap.

Coincidentally, I saw the cat as more than just a terrified blur for the first time a couple of days ago so now he has a name. We’ve called him Napoleon because he’s a damn survivor, surly and suspicious of strangers (and I just got back from 10 days in Paris so he was on my mind).
