Recently made the first lino print in years only to find out the lino print colour I have had dried up so I blame part of how wonky part of this is on the fact that I had to try and resurrect my colour but it's still partly too liquid and partly grizzly.

I occasionally bind proper books but I'm not very good at it. However I like to make these open backed notebooks because they make good birthday presents for people
Bunch of open backed notebooks with different styles. Some have a Victorian touch, for some I used paper with cherry blossoms and koi fish. They are hand stitched with thread that fits the colours that I chose for the binding

Let me start another endless thread to randomly showcase some stuff I make. Here's a lacey raglan shirt I'm currently working on. Pattern by me.
Knitted raglan from the top shirt in a berry colour. It has a lace pattern. So far, the piece is about 10cm long which isn't even at sleeve height yet, but it's slow going because it's a quite intricate pattern and very thin needles. Knitting pattern for the lace written in table style by hand. You can clearly see I first made some mistakes and had to adjust it on the go but now it's workable.

24/69 I rarely read thrillers but when I do I'm usually invested. Was I invested in this? Yes. It was captivating. But I didn't really like the protagonist and I also felt like the ending wasn't satisfying. Still, it was a good read.

23/69 another one from the "literary fiction" realm. It was okay. I struggled with this mainly because I didn't quite know when it's taking place. If the year is mentioned, it was so brief I didn't notice. And I'm pretty sure it's not set in the 2020s so that info would have been helpful.

15/69 I read "Call down the Hawk" ages ago, lost sight of the series and now finally got back to it. Tears in my eyes on the last few pages. This was so good.

12/69 I was not aware of Becky Chambers before reading these books. I also usually don't read novellas. Well... These little science fiction fairytale books are the paper equivalent of a warm hug and I loved everything about them.

10/69 Letters from Korean history 4 (Joseon part 2). Picked it up second hand (it's not available in my country otherwise). It's not really letters, but it's a well made overview of some of the most important things that happened in Joseon times.
A square shaped orange coloured paperback book, rather big. The title "Letters from Korean History" is surrounded by pictures of items and people that played a role in said history and that are linked to the contents of the book and the topics of the chapters. E.g. the old Korean flag, a mask from the traditional masked dancing etc.

Currently crocheting a Dancheong inspired jacket. (Dancheong is a style of painting that is used in palaces and temples in Korea to preserve the wood). Check alt text for more info.

9/69 I usually don't read literary fiction but I guess this happened. The Vegetarian was actually a reread bc I got it from the library when it was first published. I can't really say I loved these or even particularly liked them. But that's just me preferring Genre fiction most of the time.

June Hur is easily one of my favourite authors now. "The silence of bones" is actually an older book of hers but it was only recently translated to German. Loved it. 10/10.

6/67 This was not on the original list but I picked it up from the library. Absolutely loved this gritty insight into Bangkok about 10-20 years ago, knowing the Bangkok of today. The way it was written felt very poetic to me and the photography was amazing.
