The word "Paphiopedilum" derives from the Greek paphos, meaning "Venus," and pedilon, "sandal."

Thanks for this! It was labeled Paphiopedilum robinianum, but I didn’t think that was correct based on the overall color and shape of the sepals. I’ve been on the fence between P. gratrixianum and P. insigne as potential IDs.
