Capitalism & ableism go hand in hand

They teach us that productivity & economic contributions are all that matters

That rest is weak. That being sick makes you less than. That playing through the pain is the way to success

It’s wrong. We all have inherent value. We need robust systems of support.

Never take seriously those who ridicule low income people for having a smartphone or laptop.

“If they’re so poor how did they buy an iPhone???”

Because they’re trying to escape poverty, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is unnecessary or a luxury, survive a month without it.

When you hear “Make America Healthy Again” ask yourself this… healthy for who? When was America healthy?

It’s not about health. It’s about thinning the herd. Culling the weak

It’s about assigning blame to people with chronic illness & pushing health supremacy

It’s straight from the Nazi playbook

To put it another way; and I don't know if folks in the UK had something similar (Grange Hill?) but it seems that just showing young people episodes of Degrassi from the late 80's to address difficult subjects and thinking job done isn't good enough anymore
Sir Keir Starmer watched a TV show about how schoolkids are being shown pointless educational TV shows instead of getting actual help and he said "Let's show this TV show in schools, that will fix things".
The second episode literally criticises the over-reliance on video materials in schools due to faculty being overstretched, it's such a fucking farce.

"Assisted death/dying" is such a twisted euphemism. Call it Assisted Suicide or better yet, Euthanasia. That's what it is.
March 28, 2025 at 3:14 PM
.... and if disabled people can't work through no fault of their own, we'll cut their income support anyway and if they don't like it there's always euthanasia; oh I'm sorry... "Assisted dying"
It's not a comms problem. The government's strategy for disability is (accidentally):

- We want more people in work.
- We will let them try work.
- We will cut funds to make adjustments that help them work.
- We will make all hiring more expensive, financially, and practically.

There's a Cruel Intentions musical?
A majority of the songs in it are just 90's music covers?
I really like 90's music, don't get me wrong but there seems to be more of these pop chart musicals out there with no original music. It's just uncreative in that way. I'm annoyed

Imagine spending an extra $150-300/month just to be able to urinate; and that's on the low end of that cost.
Non-disabled people don’t understand how expensive it is to be disabled. The government doesn’t give us everything for free. Medications could be hundreds of dollars. Mobility aids could be tens of thousands. Medical equipment could be hundreds of thousands. That’s just the necessary stuff.

When an MP or even an average citizen approves of cuts to income assistance for disabled people and children forcing them into deep legislated poverty rather than taxing the ultra wealthy anywhere in the world, then you really have to question whether those people have souls at all.
March 27, 2025 at 3:55 PM
If you're an MP comparing benefits/income assistance cuts for disabled people to cutting 10 quid from your kid's pocket money then you are so far out of touch with reality that I don't think that you should have the position that you do.

This piece of artwork is stunning! Well done.
Disabled people are NOT "wasters" or "scroungers" or any other disparaging label that the UK media and some others wish to paint them/us as. Disabled people deserve to live in dignity, receiving any help that they may need. Period. #WelfareNotWarfare
During Tory austerity I painted this, scared and feeling I was less than deserving of a life including dignity and happiness. It stands today still
