He was a very different candidate and with different strengths, but Tim Walz satisfied this requirement, too. And, honestly, Beto at his best. (He didn't read as *fun* as Mamdani and Walz, but he had a similar palpable humanity.)

It’s wild to me that they fell so in love with their UI solution for one context — how to minimize obscured line of sight when a transparent iPhone was strapped to your face — and applied its aesthetic so thoughtlessly (but so effortfully!) to an extremely different context.
