Seattle area tech worker, scuba diver, climber, gamer, homebrewer; not necessarily in that order.
The beginnings of a retro game console setup. My old Intellivision II being the first console. Waiting on an upscaler device to output to a modern display.

Stocking stuffer fun 😂

Now I know why I liked this bag. It’s covered in points to clip to. No more digging for keys 🙃

Late Fall in the PNW. Tis the season for high gravity beer. Baltic Porter, 7.9% abv. A strong European lager with hints of caramel and often licorice notes. Historically, the preferred beverage of Catherine the Great. #homebrew

Vacation impulse buys. I feel like these pair well for some reason 😂

Last night in SD. Sun just set behind the courtyard of our hotel. Boo! Went to the San Diego museum of Art. There was a special exhibit of Castaneda. New to me; abstract with themes self reflection often depicted by recursion in the work.

One of my fav destinations. Just wish it wasn’t 1000+ miles from my house lol 🤪

Though Seattle is my favorite place in the summer, it’s all about CA in November ;)

A little retro game hacking on the C64. Individual pixel addressing is bonkers by modern standards so arbitrary line drawing is quite slow. But block level color updates are fast. #c64 #retrogaming.

Pickling therapy. Lots of dill, garlic, jalapeño pepper, black pepper, coriander and allspice.

With Fall closing in, it’s time for Italian cooking! I’ll be baby sitting this Sofrito for the next 4 hours ;)

Lady in my old neighborhood crafted these critters for a meetup group I attend. I miss the old hood sometimes 😊

Summer is unfortunately coming to a close in the PNW. Likely the last pool swim for the season. Oh well, winter is a time to buckle down, focus on important things; friends, growth and the fight ahead. Plus some retro game hacking (more to come).

After 30+ miles and 1300ft gain cycling this morning, I’m not f’ing around. Yeah, there’s a hot dog buried in there.

This is the 16 Pro but still ok imo ;)

I’m going to have a mess to clean up. Oh, Hefe yeast lol. #homebrew

And the Altbier is back on ;) Probably my second fav homebrew recipe after my Weissbier. Super sessionable after a bike commute. #homebrew #germanbeer

Wasn’t quite up for the full Lake WA Loop today but did the north half, over the 520 bridge. Great alternative when you don’t want to commit to a half century in 80+ temps. 26mi, ~1000ft gain, 1:40min moving time.

Took the hailed ChatGPT 5 for a test drive. AI never fails to disappoint. While it did produce runnable code given my prompt, it was poorly structured and contained serious logical errors. Code that incorrectly diagnosed a severe genetic condition. OpenAI wants to use it for healthcare of course.
