I was honored to join state legislators and community members this AM at a press conference for the Conditions of Confinement package.

When the government holds human beings in jails and prisons, it is imperative that they are treated with dignity and humanity for as long as they are in custody.

Milwaukee County has an extremely challenging budget cycle coming up, and your voice is critical in the process.

Join neighbors in sharing your top priorities at my County Budget Town Hall on Tuesday, October 7 at the West Allis Public Library.

I hope to see you there!

This #LaborDay I marched in solidarity with ATU Local 998 as they fight for a fair contract with MCTS.

Great turnout at the County Budget Listening Session at Washington Park.

Stagnant revenues and rising costs mean it’s going to be a tough year for a lot of important priorities. It’s more important than ever that we hear directly from you on what you can’t live without!

I was proud to join my friend Robyn Vining this afternoon as she announced her campaign for State Senate. I can’t wait to have her as my Senator!

She is a champion for our kids. Public education, mental health, nutrition, childcare, gun reform - she’s on the right side of every issue that matters.

Today I choose to be defiantly joyful. Tomorrow we continue the fight for a better, more inclusive America.

It’s been a bad week in a bad year in a bad decade for democracy.

But this right here - this is why I will never stop fighting for better.

Check out the new basketball hoops too!

It warms my heart to see McCarty Park so full of families in this hot Saturday. Thank you to everyone who advocated with me to open the pool this year.

Mark your calendars for July 9 when the Traveling Beer Garden comes to McCarty!

Took my daughter to her first Juneteenth Parade today!

Taking a moment to celebrate the joy of freedom and emancipation of our Black Brothers and Sisters is such a privilege.

Had a great time meeting with neighbors from Friends of McCarty Park, who are planting a pollinator garden near the pavilion.

It’s great to see neighbors stepping up to beautify their public spaces!

Mass incarceration continues to harm our families, our communities, and state and local budgets. It’s time we invested more in prevention and evidence-based practices to reduce the prison and jail populations while maintaining public safety.

Immigrants are welcome here!
Fascism is not.

I was honored to say a few words at the rally outside the FBI building to support Judge Dugan this afternoon.

In a democracy, power derives from the consent of the governed. We never consented to be ruled by a tyrant. Judge Dugan did not break the law, she upheld the Constitution!

Despite cutting basically every government program designed to help people, Trump has managed to spend more money than Biden did the last 2 years at this time.

I’m starting to understand how he managed to bankrupt a casino.

I was proud to stand with other community leaders including my colleagues County Supervisors Caroline Gómez-Tom and Juan Miguel Martinez in support of immigrants, due process, and the rule of law in Milwaukee County.

Nobody is safer when residents live in fear of participating in our legal system.

Milwaukee County is in the bottom 25% of WI counties in state aid per capita, and yet we have at least $80 million in annual public safety expenses for things no other county has to fund - namely highway patrol and the CRC.

Voted early today to preserve our WI Supreme Court and public schools for Hazel and this little guy.

Bonus: West Allis has the best stickers.
