tachles but never tactless.
Greenblatt did personally post about it, tho. As did the ADL.

Why Greenblatt's personal posts are so mild (and one is just a reply!) compared to his usual tone & rhetoric is 👀 tho.
October 31, 2025 at 3:05 AM
Greenblatt actually did post about this earlier, as did the ADL.

Obviously, the tone of the response is extremely telling. It’s one thing for Greenblatt to praise policing/gatekeeping your own side (ex NRO), as has become his habit.

But.... this is just a bit milder than he goes on college kids.

Lauder is also a hardcore 2 stater who is pushing for the release Barghouti.

This is absolutely wild.

Pair these findings together: 85% believe there is some or a lot of antisemitism on campus but also see below to get a sense of where most Jewish Americans are at.

There is a needle for the Dems to thread to get serious about antisemitism as Jews understand it. I'm increasingly skeptical they will.

That’s an undersample of orthodox, no? Esp given that they tend to skew younger, iirc?

This is a really interesting dive. I think this table should be of special note to intraparty Democratic politics. jewishvoters.org/new-in-depth...

87% of Jewish Americans consider opposing Israel's right to exist to be antisemitic, corroborating the ajc, which found 85%. Compare with Zionism!
September 10, 2025 at 12:40 PM
a really, really!!!! Interesting finding: almost exactly the same % find opposition to Israel's right to exist to be antisemitism as the AJC has found (85% most recently.)

Compare with opposition to Zionism, btw. It reminds me so much of the ACA/Obamacare gap.
September 10, 2025 at 11:45 AM
He's hasn't used the term, but he has a long history of antizionist activism that includes the radicals, & a significant portion of his base uses the phrase harmfully. It's important that he condemn it.

I'm curious & hopeful to see what discourage means.

Ex. in 2021 at a Within Our Lifetime rally.
July 16, 2025 at 2:50 PM
The issue is that Zohran refuses to condemn the phrase. It matters because:

His official statement re 10/7, released on 10/8, condemned Israel but did not mention Hamas.

He is a member of the NYC-DSA, which promoted a pro-10/7 rally on 10/8/23.

He has participated in rallies for WOL like this:
June 29, 2025 at 8:43 PM
He didn't say it, but he refused to condemn that language, he's a member of the NYC DSA, and he definitely did do rallies with WOL like this in 2021.

Any Republican would be held similarly accountable by Dems (and the GOP wouldn't actually care, which is the problem.)

Reminder that this was less than two weeks ago:
June 17, 2025 at 11:06 PM
The source of that data also included this, which I found interesting

78% were at least moderately concerned about the campus protestor. *91%!* at least a little concerned.

Those are pretty staggering figures from any marginalized, minority group. It's from May 2024, so the height of the protests.

A reminder that 85% of American Jews consider antizionism ("Israel has no right to exist") to be a form of antisemitism: www.ajc.org/Antisemitism...
June 3, 2025 at 6:28 PM
You can say this is naive (I agree!) but the ADL's position on Khalil (and otherwise) is clear -- x.com/ADL/status/1...

They're very explicit in calling for due process protections.
June 3, 2025 at 2:26 PM
This post is an example of misinformation.

At no point does Greenblatt call to "disappear" anyone or imply as much.

Rather, Greenblatt calls for the Trump admin to put a stop to the perpetuation of blood libels on social media, by influencers like Piker and Christensen, and on campus.
June 3, 2025 at 12:24 AM
Tbh, I had the opposite takeaway. Given Lipstadt's moderation & her info access as antisemitism czar, it's definitely very 👀 worthy that she believes the allegations in this suit:

I found this p interesting -- obvi could just be Columbia cozying up, but they might also have seen it as an opportunity to make reforms they wanted to (& knew were necessary.)

Not all of them, to be clear! But Columbia knew it had a problem.

Thank you for sharing this! It's absolutely excellent.

I think it's worth noting that Zeitz's linked piece from October 2023 absolutely nailed the way things were headed, which makes this latest piece noteworthy:

A friend of mine who just walked by the protest at Columbia & sent me a video. It included this lovely poster which isn't at all obviously, blatantly antisemitic /s

I want to be clear: I have 0 doubt Israel has crossed the line but, respectfully, is OHCHR credible? (This is w/o getting into the UN generally)

Involvement in a lead role by someone with Navi Pillay's history of bias would be discrediting prima facie, no? Ex. www.timesofisrael.com/leading-us-j...

Khalil is a leader of CUAD, no? CUAD is explicitly pro-Hamas & 10/7.

That doesn't mean it's cause to deport Khalil (I don't support it!) & it's clear the Trump admin is cynically weaponizing antisemitism to pursue its enemies (which is bad!).

However, CUAD's stated views are clear: Ex:
March 11, 2025 at 4:23 PM
Their social media, for ex., meets that description.

That doesn't mean it's cause to deport Khalil (I don't support it!) & it's very obvious that the Trump admin is weaponizing antisemitism to pursue its enemies (which is bad!), but can we please be honest about the protests & their stated views?
March 11, 2025 at 4:16 PM
It was 67/31 (average) for Harris, continuing a pretty clear trend.

2/3's is still a very strong majority!! & obvi I wish the ADL had more moral clarity & was much, much tougher on this stuff, but I don't think that's how Greenblatt sees it. He's (regrettably!) trying to thread a different needle.
