A federal judge has ordered the return of three immigrant families who were unlawfully deported. This is a win for due process, accountability, and family unity. 💪🏽🤍

⏳ Landing tomorrow: Our February newsletter explores what happens when we look away from the dehumanization of migrants — and what it costs us.

The rights we defend don’t just protect individuals. They shape who we are as a society.

When immigration enforcement targets children and tears families apart, the cruelty isn’t a byproduct — it’s the point.

This International Lawyers Day, we're honoring the members of Justice in Motion's Defender Network.

Across Mexico and Central America, our partners use their expertise to defend migrant rights, support U.S. lawyers, and advance justice across borders. We are deeply grateful, today and every day!

Family separation continues.

Just last week, @aclu.org was back in federal court fighting for families torn apart under zero tolerance 8 years ago — and who are being unlawfully separated again.

Thank you to @jacobsoboroff.bsky.social and @colbertlateshow.bsky.social for highlighting this crisis.

Liam Ramos and his father are back home. 🧡

Thank you to the members of Congress and community advocates who helped make this happen.

This fight continues — ICE has detained at least 3,800 children under the Trump administration. Learn more: www.cbsnews.com/news/liam-co...

ICE has booked at least 3,800 children — including infants — into immigration detention under the Trump administration.

Every day brings new stories of children taken from their families, detained or deported, and traumatized by a system that is acting outside the law.

ICE detained a 5-year-old boy & his father in MN last week, separating them from his mom and sibling — part of a larger system of child-family separation. We joined partner orgs in a @georgetownuni.bsky.social webinar to examine the crisis & child-centered responses. ➡️Watch now: youtu.be/lhKpRFU_3WM

Accountability now.

We mourn Alex Jeffrey Pretti, killed during a federal immigration enforcement operation. This violence cannot stand. Congress must stop funding ICE & CBP and revoke the tens of billions already given. Grateful to Senate Democrats who are refusing to advance DHS funding.

ICE detained a 5-year-old child in Minnesota.

Other children have been taken too — and Congress is considering *more* funding for this system.

Our communities deserve safety, dignity & care — not detention centers and mass arrests. Tell them to oppose increased funding for ICE and Border Patrol.

Congress is deciding whether to pour more money into ICE’s harmful expansion. We can stop it — but only if we act now.

Tell your elected officials to oppose any legislation that increases funding for ICE and Border Patrol.

Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the unfinished work of justice.

When the moment feels overwhelming, we remember his words: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

Across borders and against injustice, we'll keep bending the arc together.

Congressional oversight is not optional — it’s required by law.

The Trump-Vance administration cannot block oversight of ICE detention facilities.

We are asking the court to enforce the law and hold the administration accountable.
Over the weekend, three Minnesota members of Congress were denied access to an ICE detention center in their state.

So today, we’re back in court to again challenge the Trump-Vance admin’s outrageous policy blocking members from conducting oversight of ICE facilities.

Family separation isn’t over.

About 1,000 families remain separated after the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy.

From Guatemala, human rights lawyer Gabriel Zelada continues the search as part of our cross-border Defender Network.
