Not to mention the way Autistic people have already watched our societies and communities stand by and accept when we are abused and even murdered by our parents and caregivers because we're "too much of a burden". That's not a new thing RFK, Jr. would be giving these people. They already have it.

Anyway the point here is this doesn't stem from Parents' Rights. That's a helpful and convenient lever for RFK to move ahead with this ridiculous focus, but this focus on Autistic people comes from decades of us being painted as a problem to solve rather than people to accept.

I'm homeless,disabled, & queer.
If 19 people can find $20 to help me, I'll be able to make it another month, & continue working to help my homeless, disabled, & queer neighbors & myself, & working my way through the healing process towards being less dependent.
Please help.

It may or may not also be a good reminder to non-autistic people that autistic people’s specific needs are also likely to be individualized, rather than one-size-fits-all. I do see your point about the saying being a bit contradictory though.

*shrug* I think that in intra-autistic spaces, the if you’ve met one autistic thing is a good reminder that not every difference between us and alistics is necessarily down to autism, and also bc some real autistic shitheads like to do a lot of “we” shit that does not speak for me or many others.
