San Franciscans submitted 2,000+ ideas to rename the Great Highway, which officially closed to cars last week.

We have the full list, including:

—Ocean Beach Park
—Snowy Plover Park
—Parky McParkface

Mayor Daniel Lurie has made downtown recovery a top priority, but a key part of that is missing: Maintaining fully-serviced public transit.

With a $15M budget shortfall, Lurie's team appears resigned to Muni service cuts this summer.

On Valentine’s Day in 1980, Insook and Kwangduk Kim, a young Korean couple, sold their first bouquet of flowers.

45 years later, they’ll sell their last — but their Balboa Green Garden Florist will continue on with new owners.

Three days a week, residents flock to a cafe tucked between an abandoned hotel and an auto body shop in the Tenderloin, and queue outside to get in.

They keep coming for the top-shelf coffee, and the "radical hospitality."

Charles Phan, the famed Vietnamese cook who started the Slanted Door in the Mission & transformed Asian cooking, died this week. He was 62.

“The Mission — Charles changed it. He was the pioneer of the Mission...Charles opened it up.”
