I went to an exhibition by the sculptor Kate MccGwire at Lakeside Arts in Nottingham. She uses ethically sourced feathers to make the most amazing artwork. This is using pheasant feathers. My photo doesn't do it justice.

Fond memories of all these beaches, particularly Runswick Bay, which is a gem. Spurn is wild and not really a pleasure beach. I have a lovely art photograph of the groynes at Spurn. It hangs above my desk and reminds me of growing up in Hull.

Thank you. There are so many wonderful churches in Sicily, but my favourite has to be Cefalú Cathedral. The mosaic of Christ Pantokrator is stunning and shows a Middle Eastern Jesus as I think he would have looked.

My hellebores are in full flower on #ChristmasDay. This has never happened before in any of my previous gardens in the East Midlands in over 40 years of gardening.
A clump of pink and white hellebores surrounded by dark green serrated leaves. Each 5 pedalled flower has a dark purple blotch in the middle out of which emerge bright yellow stamens.
