I was just told that I have to remove “climate” from the title of an ongoing grant if I want to keep it. And publications from that grant cannot include “climate” and other forbidden words. I can’t believe I’m writing this from the United States of America. #AcademicSky
Just received an email saying that it's not advisable to include the following words in future applications for research funding to the US DOT. Here we are.

Hey folks if you got the most recent iOS update, it’s real simple to turn off Apple Intelligence (which has been toggled on by default in hopes you’ll just go with it)

Sticking your head in the sand and assuming rule of law will matter to fascists is hastening the demise. First we have to convince people there is a threat. Then we have to convince them to work with us to oppose it.
Assuming that there will be no rule of law, no checks or constraints of any kind, is a form of complying in advance.
