DJ questions to the audience are like barristers: only ask questions when you're sure you know what the answer will be, or it goes bad.
"Are you ready?!" - Nah mate just popping to the bar first
"Do you want some MORE?" - Not of this stuff, no, we preferred the earlier part of the set

We tried (with Scouts so age 10-14) doing “have a number and count yourselves off” (which I remember working when I was a kid) but half of them actually couldn’t remember their number and the other half thought it was funny not to 🙄

scissors: try baby nail scissors? They have rounded ends so no accidental stabbing, but the cutting bits (at least on the ones we have & are still using to trim L's nails 13 yrs after acquiring) are decently sharp.

It is the only remaining sea-going paddle steamer in the world! And is great fun to go for a trip on (going up and down the Thames Estuary and environs for the next fortnight; highly recommended).

Very similar but (IME) it’s easier to get there with skiing; and any given run definitely lasts longer.
Surfing might be more endorphin-heavy but I suspect that depends on the sort of skiing you do (I am a very laid back sort of skier/snowboarder :) ).

YES get a fixie they’re great.

(I don’t own one any more because I can no longer justify having 2 bikes & I kept the Good Semi-Custom Road Bike; but I do still miss the fixie.)

I want this so badly but cannot remotely justify it.

they're in St Katherine's Docks now. Presumably raiding the nice bars and/or yachts.

But ~1200 years ago we would have been absolutely bricking ourselves instead of cycling off home.
We’re going to visit it properly later this week.

It is also quite a lot smaller than the Shard.

“It’s not all that long” observed L, as it sailed (not actually under sail, the PLA don’t like that) slowly past much more recent terrifying ship HMS Belfast.
