Two views of an antique aquamarine ring. The aquamarine is very large, rectangular, and looks like an emerald cut, except blue. Alongside the ring on both sides are rubies, decently matched with a luscious pink tone to them. Yum. Giant ruby ring from Graff. The ruby is hexagonal with a flower carved in the surface. It is surrounded with round brilliant-cut diamonds. Six prong setting, prongs in three groups of two for a more interesting look than the usual equidistant placement.

My cat before Honu was named Sekhmet, and I swore then I wouldn't give my next cat a name no one could pronounce. 🙄

LOL, Boghossian is one of my favorite jewelers. They've been in business for generations and have the connections to get hold of really great stones. Haha, I'll stop now.

That's Cam's personal property that she had before she married Cluck. No idea whether her first husband bought it, or she did, or if Cluck did it on the down-low while he was married to Diana. It's what she wanted. Woman also collects insect jewelry.

Emerald bracelet by Boghossian. A 'tennis bracelet' made with emeralds instead of diamonds. Every other stone is a cabochon set in a square diamond surround. The other emeralds are like bubbles, between the diamonds. Really lovely. Probably a crazy total on carat weight.

Queen Camshaft wearing the Greville Bequest Emerald Kokoshnik tiara. Made by Boucheron, in France. Not the possibly-Russian tiara Meghan wanted for her wedding.

Queen Cam at a reception, wearing a white dress, blue sash, portrait of King Chuck on a blue ribbon which is like a thank-you to the women of the family for serving the monarch. Note she does not have one from Queen Elizabeth. HAHAHA. On her head is the Greville emerald tiara, the one Eugenie wore for her wedding. This is the only other wearing of this tiara, and I think Camshaft is trying to ride on the wedding coattails and get a bunch of happy feelings out of people. Not happening. The tiara is a kokoshnik style, with an giant cabochon emerald in the center and smaller emeralds on either side. The rest of the tiara is textured with different types of diamonds. One thing of interest, if you look at her shoulder with the sash on it, there is a diamond pin holding it in place. These diamond bar brooches are used for sashes all over Europe, and most royal families have half a dozen or more. I'm not sure which one this is, but Victoria had one made that on the surface looked like this - two rows of five diamonds each - but the diamonds were enormous. Can't tell the proportion from here, with nothing against it. But it's interesting to see such an old tradition being continued by a commoner who doesn't give a rip about tradition.

The Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace. A gift to QE for her wedding, the Nizam of Hyderabad made an arrangement with Cartier and told Liz to go on down and pick something out. She went for a necklace and tiara combo, then later had the tiara broken down to make The Burmese Ruby Action Movie Tiara. The necklace still exists and seems to have been given to Kate as a kind of lifetime loan. Thought to be the most expensive single piece of royal jewelry in the world. I'm doubtful, but I'm sure Kate gets off on wearing something that valuable.

Has loads of diamonds and approximately ten sapphires from large to enormous. In this image the sapphires have a purple shade, which marks them as high quality sapphires. No idea if they were really this color or the person colorizing decided. Signed by "Memento Mori" who I assume is the one who did the colorizing.

Ring from Bayco. Top center is a square step-cut 18ct emerald. Perfect green. On the sides of the ring below the emerald on each side are triangular diamonds. The ring itself is probably platinum.

I never carried a purse until I had a kid, I put everything in my pockets. BUT COME ON IT'S AN EVENING GOWN.
Evening purse by Buccaletti, fabric made with sterling silver (that's what the data says, don't @ me) fabric, and a turquoise and gold clasp. Pretty! Evening! Goes with everything! Evening bag by Jewel Palace. Made with a gold alloy, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds. Baroque, timeless, beautiful. You WANT to carry this, not put your stuff in your pocketses. VC&A evening bag, interior. Gold brocade, engraved, mirror, diamonds at the corners. Holds a lipstick, and spaces for rouge, powder, and so forth. Antique jade makeup pairing; powder in the hexagon, lipstick in the tube. I'm not sure if this went into a larger bag, was carried as-is, or was looped over the belt like a chatelaine. But it sure is pretty. YOU COULD EVEN PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET.

Oh fuck yeah. I love when they cut watermelon tourmaline in creative ways.
Pearl and tourmaline earrings from Assael. A pearl on the top and a cut gem on the bottom. The cut gems are watermelon tourmaline so that you are looking THROUGH the color layers, and from the front it looks like peach surrounded by blue-green. The pearls match the stone colors, which should be impossible but is not. I'd kick a senator for a pair of those pearls as simple earrings, I don't even need the stones. Just those magnificent pearls.

An image of a necklace by George Fouquet. The base is a ring of gold to go around the neck. It appears solid but I assume it is articulated for ease of fit. Around the ring are leaves, and at the front leaves from each side meet in the center around three lovely pearls (that look real). Hanging down from the center of the golden circle, are four or five flowers, they look like lilies, fuchsia, or a similar downward-facing flower. The leaves are done with enamel and the petals of the flowers are done with thinly cut opals.

I did a nice cable knit for my MIL one Christmas. Ljod by Elsebeth Lavold. I did mine in pink, in the DK/worsted weight wool/cotton blend from Brown Sheep. Worked out pretty well.

Queen Letizia in the Cartier Loop Tiara, which I don't think she's ever worn before.

In fact I'm not sure I knew the Spanish royal fam HAD this one, but it works a lot better than the dress. (Color fantastic, cut and fit horrible.) I think the necklace is an actual royal order and not bad jewelry.

MIL has a very active orange cat named Sweetie. (🙄) While I was at her house, I ran into something typical of us, so I took a pic and told MIL the internet needed to see it. She laughed.
A ball of blue yarn (slubbed wool and synthetic blend) in a silverware drawer in the kitchen. It’s right next to where she sits a lot, at the kitchen table. So it’s cat-proofed.
