I'm glad you have critical thinking skills. And I hope some of those kids learned that from this experience. But I suspect there are better ways to go about teaching it.

This is so important. We often don't realize a peaceful time was happening until it's over.

Those kids are in a school where they are taught to obey authority. They are taught that at home as well. So for the teacher to blame them for not defying authority goes against what they learn every day, obedience and conformity. If anything, this story is an indictment of that teacher and school.

They're quite magical. My family landed in Mexico a month ago. There are gorgeous mimosas, pines and acacias growing near where we're staying. They've given us a lovely welcome 🌲🌳
