The walled garden at historic Borde Hill… About to undergo a forward-thinking redesign by @ann-mariepowell.bsky.social,
becoming a kitchen garden and dining experience, in keeping with the heritage of the surroundings. Watch this space.

Christmas at Edinburgh Botanics absolutely smashed it out of the botanical park! I mean, look at this fibre optic depiction of the mycelium networks beneath our feet… And accompanied by Danny Elfman’s music from Charlotte’s Web, which is completely in keeping. As wonderful as I’d hoped!

In search of a positive spin on the word ‘decay’ in terms of the natural breakdown of gardens in winter… The plants retreat & replenish their energy; fallen leaves nourish the soil; twigs and other matter make bug snugs for overwintering insects… @susiedent.com is there a positive word for decay?!

Haha, this is hilarious! “A delightful blend of botanical beauty and cheeky humor, like a garden party with a surprise stand-up act”.

Two different sides to last week! Both utterly memorable! Celebrating the best of the industry in our Savoy gladrags for the Garden Media Guild awards / early starts and frosty toes at Beth Chatto’s for November photos 💚

Love seeing friends and family share when they get their copy of November’s RHS The Garden magazine! I spent time with @katebradbury.bsky.social and @chrisgpackham.bsky.social to take photos of their chat about National Tree Week. Chris’s garden is (as you’d expect) a wildlife haven! 💚 #gardening

One more thing: cats.
They’re highly likely to be a regular feature here as they like to micro-manage me…
