"This feature has become very popular among people who have no imagination" is perhaps one of the best and most damning things you can say about people who use gen-AI to regurgitate artbarf as if it's anything other than digital particleboard.
More journalists need to talk about this the way Japanese articles do

Made Things, my novella about thieves, wizards and a secret community of homunculi, is getting a UK release (though the incredible cover with real puppets from Red Nose Studio remains, to my delight.)
We're thrilled to reveal the cover of Made Things by @aptshadow.bsky.social, a whimsical fantasy tale about a resourceful street thief who makes a pact with two magic-infused puppets... ✨

I could use some help spreading the word.

My new little book is about two sisters who hunt down killers and collect body parts while complicating their lives with volatile magics, bizarre visions, and a mysterious mouth in the wall.

Think Junji Ito meets Little Women.

In terms of the female bald Centauri, some of those were skull caps, and others weren't; we let it be known that we wanted to support women going through chemo or other treatments who had lost their hair by casting them here, money that could also help pay for medical bills.
@straczynski.bsky.social Rewatching B5 and as always appreciate the moles and fine hair fuzziness of the Centauri skull caps, especially on the fully bald female characters. The moles in particular lend such an air of realness.

Cover's out for Bee Speaker.
I have been given permission to reveal the upcoming cover of Bee Speaker, book 3 of the Dogs of War series, coming this June. Mad Max futures, Martian invasions, mad lizards, fungus witches and embattled monks, none of which are quite what they seem.

My water bill (Northumbrian Water) went up twice last year, first in June and then in December. It more than doubled. The increases represent an extra £384 per year. How is this legal? If this further increase goes ahead, how are people supposed to be able to pay? It's outrageous.

A small, noisy press on the way up, which operates author first and with EXTREMELY generous royalty shares, created solely for English northerners.

You've got 2 weeks to get involved!
🚨2 WEEK WARNING🚨

A reminder that you have until midnight on the 31st January to get those submissions in.

You MUST be born or living in the north of England (judged by the below map).

Due to the unprecedented number we've had so far, we are unlikely to do a window in 2026!

Midnight came. Everyone charged their glasses for the big toast. Except me. I watched from the shadows as they drank deep — for the last time. As the clock chimed twelve, I revelled in the sounds of breaking glass and their bodies hitting the floor. #HorrorWritersChat
#HorrorWritersChat question 4 (last question but stick around in ten minutes for the outro):

Skeet sized story time!

Write a story in a single post starting with "Midnight came. Everyone..."
