And you could find plenty of questionable things in the Bible. I mean, it wasn't exactly healthy how Jesus bonded with his mother's rapist.

I guess what I'm really getting at is, don't just blindly follow anyone else's teachings. Work it out for yourself from first principles.

You could take the message from Thatcher that small and medium enterprises -- and, by implication, the workers being close to the means of production -- are a good thing, and society can only exist if people make some level of active effort.

The thing is, in the USA, the people have decided that other people's right to own and use machines expressly designed for the purpose of turning living, breathing people into lumps of minced meat and bone splinters outweighs your right not to get shot. So what can you do?

All politicians should be required to make a public affirmation that they will prioritise the needs of the real people in their constituency, including those who did not vote for them, over and above the whims and caprices of any imaginary deity.

We need to complain separately about every story in which they use this. That phrase is no less offensive to trans women than the P-word is to South Asians, and its use should carry similar consequences.
