People prefer to be seen as morally good and they will lie about the reasons they do things so they don’t appear to be morally bad. It’s what bigots do when they give fake reasons for not hiring or admitting people (for excluding people).

Yes! Impeachment is the answer, especially given the pass SCOTUS gave him. Then, when he’s gone, start impeachment proceedings on others who are corrupt, etc. At least get them out of public office, even if you can’t convict them of crimes.

The sad thing is, we know a UBI works on all levels and we don’t need to study it any more. How long do we have to wait before we see an implementation bill?

Electricity is now at the point where it is a common good, like clean water, education, and healthcare in places like Canada. Profits should not be made on common goods. They should be provided at cost to everyone who needs them (which is everyone).

I understand. It’s a challenge to be explicit in 200 characters! I think we’ve been doing a pretty good job here. “What we are” is existential and we have a little control over it. “What we do” is always a choice even if it feels compelled. “Who we are” is a combo of both.

Love your definition of bigotry. I need to clarify the difference between Being and Doing good. When humans are morally good, it is on account of the choices they make for the actions they do. It is not on account of what they are. It is because of what they do. We tend to blend the two words.

Interesting you used the word "consistently". I had in mind bigots who don't want to appear to be bigoted, even while they remain bigoted. Your comment seems to mean a person who genuinely wants to be good but fails sometimes (as we all do). I mean a person who just wants to appear to be good.
