The component library used by OpenFlexure to create diagrams is now online at Wikimedia.

This was never meant to be a closed resource, it just never found its way into the open in full. Or if it did, I couldn't find it today and had to search my own computer!

Took my OpenFlexure Microscope to a demo today. I decided to walk. It's nice to have a project portable enough you can carry it 4km along the Bath Skyline.

I have made this for the next time someone asks me to use a "normal" word processor, because it is "easier for everyone".

It's easier for you, not me.

I believe in the concept of "The person doing the bulk of the writing picks the tooling".

The OpenFlexure stand at #FOSDEM is buzzing. Come see us in building H.

But still, that time was also hilarious. Like when the NFT people "invented" the concept of a receipt, but didn't realise that objects have values beyond proof of purchase.

It does. I (through OpenFlexure @openflexure.bsky.social) release all the steps (and raw source code) for 3D printing microscopes.

Words are cheap. British supermarkets are killing the planet.

I get that. Bath, is pretty much a 15min city within the city limits and a fair bit of the suburbs. But the main dot isn't blue because a lot of the county looks like this..
Apparently this field isn't a 15 minute city 😱

Almost two years ago I got my wife exactly exactly what she asked for, for Christmas.. the lite version of the Nintendo Switch.😻

It is very much for waterwheels not for microscopes!

I also have this little chap who I carry every day. Gets used for everything from microscopes, to waterwheels, to farm gates when I'm out walking.

Nice spanner! This is my big spanner.. it, however, wasn't miss-sized.

This winter's SPAB magazine is a bit on the nose. Just after mopping out the seventh flood from the Grade 1 listed pumping station since September (the 35th since October 2022), I get a magazine on water and historic buildings.
Important topic, doesn't make for light reading!

"Hmm, seems dark and damp."

A view from the upstairs (middle floor) at the pumping station. This should be the stairwell down to the ground floor. "Mind your.... flood?"
Water about 8 foot high in the building. Going down now, I hope.
Electricity is all blown too.

OOOH! It is Monday! #BenchmarkMonday, check out this bad photograph of a fantastic benchmark! Taken back in August, but I never remember to post it on a Monday. We aren't even on the same app now!
Somewhere near where Church Lane joins Church Street, near Widcombe in Bath.

Delighted to see this survey from MyWorkwear, our workwear suppliers for volunteering. They have a great range, but it is so limited for female volunteers. These results also properly highlight the scam of just claiming men's clothes are "unisex".

Hopefully this drives change!

The whole final section of the article is perfect. Very much captures my feelings.

Prusa never had any commitment to actually designing openly and collaboratively (not part of the definition of open source, but certainly part of the spirit).

This line though is incredible:
