I'll often see people express displeasure with books having AI-generated covers because they can't trust AI wasn't involved in the text. Sure, but even if it wasn't, a gen AI cover is a problem on its own. It's a betrayal of real artists, and the harms caused by "AI" persist no matter the output.

Writing a children’s book is much more difficult than I realized. 😭 I have to find simpler words to describe events; Some phrases, I haven’t thought about since I was at my would-be reader’s age.
