I have been prescribed mifepristone for a missed miscarriage, but I also was induced with it at 40 weeks when I had my first child. It was a more gentle induction compared to when I was induced with Pitocin a few years ago. It was a faster and less painful labor.

I have been trying to learn Czech on Duolingo for the same reason. My maternal grandfather's parents immigrated from there, but my grandfather never taught his children because he said knowing two languages and growing up in two cultures was too confusing for young children.

I bought my son the graphic novel version of "Watership Down" for Christmas, which was another favorite book as a kid. I still remember stumbling across that book as a kid on a bookshelf in my dad's childhood bedroom while staying with my grandparents.

This was the first scene in a book to make me bawl as a child. When I was 19, I found out on my first morning in Oxford that my best friends had died in a car accident back home. I can't read that part or watch the show without crying because I connect Oxford to my own grief now.
