In conclusion: Lucius is fucked, but (spoiler alert) his moral compass isn’t completely shattered, and nihilism isn’t his cup of tea. So happy ending still possible, sort of! 4/4

And then his soul gets even tastier and the horrible stuff he does makes things around him worse, which the creature he sold his soul to finds hilarious. 3/4

It also plays a part in his corruption of course. He gets his power to “stop” the bad guys but then he realizes Being bad is comfortable?? so maybe his goals can be conveniently forgotten (but he’s tootally gonna get to it soon) for a while?? 2/4

Fun fact: The anti-capitalism theme was not a big thing in the draft, but after it literally killed Lucius’ friends on multiple occasions, made his life miserable, and eventually forced him into sacrificing his soul to stop it, it was hard to not address it. 1/4
