The Woodburn School District has adopted a ‘Safe and Welcoming Schools’ resolution to protect students regardless of immigration status. The resolution was narrowly approved after two weeks of community pressure, including tears, protests and calls for resignations.

The board rejected the resolution originally late last month and decided to revisit it in March. The vote was met with strong pushback from staff, families and students.
