Mila approves of the new scratcher — in fact, she couldn’t wait for me to put it on the floor before she got comfortable. The heat vent might have been part of the attraction.

My son took a chance on a shelter cat who had been passed over (possibly even returned once; her history was sketchy). She turned out to be the most perfect buddy he could have imagined. Three cheers for the folks who staff shelters and make these matches possible.

Several nights of diabetes equipment gremlins means sleeping in + late coffee. No big ambitions today beyond cat snuggles and watching the rose-breasted grosbeaks stopping by the feeders.
