The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Centrist Dems: VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO!

Democratic Socialists: Sure! Let’s build that big tent!

*Democratic Socialist wins election with tremendous popularity*

Centrist Dems: WE HATE SOCIALISM!

…also can we have $5?

Excited to have this clear list of who to primary though! 🧐🙅🏻‍♀️🫠
US Congress voted 285–98 to condemn "socialism." 88 Democrats joined Republicans, including Hakeem Jeffries.

What they mean by socialism is your access to healthcare, housing, safety regulations, and anything that benefits you instead of the oligarchy. There has been no vote to condemn fascism. #3E

Sounds like a good plan for NYC! #TaxTheRich
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Ran into a ton of paid Cuomo canvassers plastering Crown Heights with these fliers - they noticed my Zohran hat and said they’re voting for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and hope he wins. 😊

Anyone else catch this extremely weird AI Cuomo ad? Like most things, it does the job for us to make Cuomo look awful. Enjoy!

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

He resigned as governor in 2021, during his third term, because of allegations of sexual harassment or inappropriate touching from at least 11 women.”

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander was just arrested by Trump’s ICE agents because he asked to see a judicial warrant.

This is fascism and all New Yorkers must speak in one voice. Release him now.
Here's a longer video of Brad Lander's detention just now inside 26 Federal Plaza as he tried to walk a man out of immigration court, by masked federal agents.

People deserve to be safe in their homes, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods.
