It was audacious. It was called impossible. It had to be done. It was the cusp of the 1980s and somebody had to fence the entire top of Maui’s #Haleakalā Volcano, over 30 miles of it, immediately. Feral goats were destroying swathes of one of the most precious landscapes in the world.
