I have to wear special compression garments after a surgery, and wearing them non-stop can hurt a bit under the armpits. Luckily, holding an Ikea Blåhaj under your arm helps quite effectively against the chafing/irritation.

Schöne Überraschung heute beim Besuch des #Magdeburger Doms: Kleine Ausstellung zur #FrauenLesbenbewegung in der #DDR.
Standtafel Überschrift: Lesbische Gruppen Haupttext: Lesben haben in der DDR keine sichtbaren Vorbilder oder Worte, um sich selbst zu beschreiben. Zwar ist Homosexualitat weitgehend entkriminalisiert, aber das gesellschaftliche Tabu bleibt. Schwul-lesbisches Leben existiert im Privaten oder an den wenigen subkulturellen Orten der Großstädte. Viele Lesben leben alleine und isoliert. 1973 gründet sich die ,,Homosexuelle Interessengemeinschaft Berlin“ (HIB), ange- regt durch Rosa von Praunheims Film , Nicht der Homosexuelle ist pervers, sondern die Situation, in der er lebt“. Sie versteht sich als schwul-lesbische Wahlfamilie, ihr politisches Ziel ist die Gleichberechtigung Homosexueller in der DDR-Gesellschaft. Im April 1978 kommen über hundert Teilnehmerinnen zu einem ersten Lesbentreffen in Charlotte von Mahlsdorfs Gründerzeitmuseum in Ost-Berlin zusammen. Ein großes Polizeiaufgebot erwartet sie, weshalb sie auf zwei Lokale und eine Privatwohnung ausweichen müssen... Plakattext: Gemeinsam sind wir unerträglich über und unter Frauenzeichen mit geballter Faust Plakatüberschrift: Frau als IM Text: Zur Überwachung der Frauengruppen heuert die Staatssicherheit inoffizielle Mitarbeiterinnen an. Sie sollen das MfS einerseits über die Gruppen informieren. Andererseits sollen sie die Gruppen von innen ,.zersetzen”. Dazu gehören Auf- gaben wie Streit anzetteln, Zweifel an der gemeinsamen Arbeit streuen und gegen- seitiges Misstrauen zwischen den Frauen säen. Im Operativplan des OV ,, Hydra” werden sieben weibliche IM auf die Frauen- gruppe Karl-Marx-Stadt angesetzt. Eine von ihnen, IM ,,Gerit", soll die Gruppe in kirchlichen Kreisen in Verruf bringen. Die ,.Zersetzung” gelingt: 1988 löst sich die Gruppe auf. Bis zu ihrer Enttarnung in den frühen 1990er Jahren ist IM ,Gerit“ weiter in Frauengruppen aktiv.

I engaged in a personally relevant project this week after which I need to rest a bit. It is so worth it, but at the same time I am bored out of my mind! There is a limit in how many hours of living history documentaries I can watch in a day!

Currently changing all my documents to reflect my legal name, and found out that one of my former unis has a "Gender identity advisor" that doesn't just make sure you get a new diploma, but also knows how their database system works. I'm impressed!

Irgendwie habe ich momentan Glück mit den Locations in Düsseldorf. Beim letzten Besuch ein Termin im "Neuen Zollhof" - das Gehry-Gebäude, dessen Baustelle ich vor Ewigkeiten mal bei einer Exkursion besucht hatte. Und heute bin ich in einem fancy-schmanzy-alles-digital Hotel im Reissverschlusslook.

A writer sits in her publisher's office and says: "I've got an idea for a story that examines multiple outcomes for each action." The publisher's three possible replies are depicted: 1. I love it! 2. Hmm. It might work. 3. That sounds terrible. Depending on the publisher's reply, she leaves the room saying: I'll send you a draft in three months. or To hell with you! I'll write it anyway. Both versions lead to an image captioned "Nine years later..." which shows the writer surrounded by notes and drafts, saying "Finished! Finally!" and this leads to images of the writer holding either: 1. a rejection letter 2. a sheaf of polite reviews 3. a Nobel prize And yet, inevitably all the possibilities land with the same image: The writer's gravestone lit by the moon.
