The Carter Center set about this in 1986 when there were 3.5m cases of guinea worm disease worldwide. So far this year there have been seven. It would only be the second disease after smallpox ever to be completely eradicated. Again: a good man. RIP.

Finally made the move from X. Wish I would’ve done it sooner. I’ve been trying to deactivate my account over there this morning and keep getting an error message. Must have something to do with the Swifties mass exodus.
