And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes.

We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

These are the words of an American President who is systematically suppressing speech & trying to destroy the First Amendment. These are the words of an American President who believes he’s a king. And his supporters, who all feign support for free speech, won’t say a damn thing.

Trump highlights culture wars bcuz he doesn't want anyone focusing on the fact that he's trying to kick millions off Medicaid & cut SNAP benefits down to just $1.67 per person per meal on avg to help pay for tax cuts that give $278k to folks in the top 0.1% while increasing the deficit by trillions.
Trump talked for 90 minutes but didn't mention Medicaid once.

That's on purpose because he'd rather you focus on literally anything besides the fact that he wants to cut Medicaid & food assistance to help partially pay for tax cuts for the rich.

I wrote about it here: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | The GOP’s budget plan makes it hard to conceal its lies about Medicaid and SNAP
House Republicans aim to use a procedure known as budget reconciliation, which allows the Senate to pass legislation with only 51 votes rather than the usual 60 required.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Dear manager, this week I acheived these goals.

1: I wrote a bullet point.

2: I wrote a second, equally clever bullet point.

3: Building on prior successful bullet points, I developed and implemented a third bullet point.

4: I drafted, edited and published a 4th bullet.

So.

It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.

I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

This is very, very bad. Am working on a write-up, but let’s just say that firing military leaders for blatantly political reasons is wildly inappropriate; firing all the too lawyers is ominous; firing them all at the same time is a terrifying five-alarm fire
