I understand the Octavia Butler hype and will be reading all her books now. I felt the conflict in the MC throughout. There were a lot of tough parts to read but our history of slavery isn't pretty and wasn't as simple as some portray it to be. Should be required reading for everyone.

Witchy sisters running a tea shop and fighting fate in Chicago. A little slow but I liked the overall cozy vibe. I don't think they said the exact year it took place but it's after the Chicago fire which was 1871 so somewhere after that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
