Well, that's not surprising since I do use @nerbit.bsky.social older vids to fall asleep to.

So I've missed many patches of stalker 2.

I haven't been in the right mindset to fire it up again. Hell, I haven't been in the mindset to play post-apocalypse games at all lately.

My buddy got Borderlands 2 and invited me to play the other day...now I'm playing it over again for like hundredth time since 2012.

Mainly because I was waiting for the Stalker 2 patch to release.

Good news! Patch is live as of 2 hours ago

This is a nice vibe in Stalker 2.

"STALKER 2 is a beautiful and engaging horror shooter marred by technical issues"

So...

A STALKER game then

Definitely agree. A completely functional Stalker game would be forgotten rather quickly.

Had GSC released the original Oblivion Lost before it was set in the exclusion zone, it would've flopped.
This thought is probably about 75% sincere but I think a Stalker game that worked completely perfectly with no issues would actually be a worse experience than actively wondering the whole time whether what you were seeing was supposed to be happening or not

While the GPU and AM2 rig are long gone, I did find the driver and game disks in my CD organizer!

I wish I knew how to play chords on guitar in Stalker 2. No musical talent I guess lol

Taken right before a storm blew in and lightning almost striking Skif's head 🤣

I still think it's funny that people are trying to deny my bad experience with the original v1.000 Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl release back in 2007.

This was my GPU, a BFG7800, *just* below the game's recommended requirements. And I still had a hard time.

Take off the rose tinted glasses

This is an ancient media thread for all the "gamers" who are extremely negative about the current state of Stalker 2 two days after launch.

The OG trilogy was so much worse on launch and continued to be bad until the mods fixed issues.
November 22, 2024 at 7:51 AM
I really should just say that the game isn't perfect but I'm not expecting it to be. It's basically the OG trilogy repackaged in one release with new paint but missing critical elements that should get patched soon (I hope!)
So apparently, lots of people are very upset that Stalker 2 was released in its current state.

I enjoy it; it's thousands of miles better than the OG trilogy. However the NPC's spawn in and out waaay too close to the player and performance could be slightly better.

I still think I'm incredibly rusty with the Stalker games, but due to day one issues, I'm fighting muscle memory with the new key binds.

I burned through so many supplies because the typical lean left/right keys were use medkit/food

Might as well start a new save, ugh

At least the Bloodsuckers aren't bullet sponges in Stalker 2

OMG that classic Shadow of Chernobyl theme peaks through the main menu theme.

Shader compile completed successfully

That's quite a big game
November 20, 2024 at 10:17 PM
I am looking forward to getting Stalker 2 this afternoon. I had the first one on launch in 2007 and was hooked, creeping void graphic bugs and all.

There are no bugs, only anomalies

I'm starting to get the feeling that our local cars and coffee is attracting the wrong crowd.

By wrong crowd, I mean the rich dorks who need their egos stroked by bringing another high end paper tagged vehicle purchase.

Crazy that Threads didn’t take off along political creators by filling our timelines with engagement bait about order of operations on math problems.

Speaking of Everspace 2, I really dislike the rift junk. Especially the forced one during the main story.

Guaranteed drops are an incentive, but 4 waves of a last man standing where you can't refill or switch loadouts is a big negative
November 19, 2024 at 12:30 AM
While the main story is a little bit slow and silly at times, some of side quests of Everspace 2 are really engaging. Especially the Parasite chain, I wish it went longer.

However, the reoccurring DLC titan engagements are boring after the DLC storyline is completed.

The harder pill to swallow is realizing that some of the ones who asked that aren't dumb or uninformed, they're literally THAT disengaged
the thing about being a political junkie is you have extremely difficult time conceptualizing how someone could be totally ignorant of politics but i would strongly encourage you to imagine the kind of person who googled “did biden drop out?” on november 4th and then cast a ballot on november 5th
