Like - my two pirate engineers, platonically close and bicker like they're brother and sister over their ship's engine designs despite not even being the same species (one's human, the other's an Aevis - short bird-like humanoids)

(As an addendum, it's also why I laugh every time I see "it's just a placeholder left by accident" when AI is found in a shipped game, like... even if that's true, if you didn't use AI, then it wouldn't have shipped with a placeholder there in the first place).

Like - I'm just an ex-student, barely graduated this past June, and I find it really funny that these long-time industry guys are saying stuff that (as far as I can tell) goes entirely against games-development 101

Honestly, I always liked the idea of certain "taboo" magic fields/lines just being other lines taken to their extremes.
Like, necromancy is technically the same magic as healing, both restore life to that which is damaged, but it's applied in ways that entirely twist and pervert the natural order.
